Custom, lifestyle portraits - What does that mean?

Kim shoots exclusively with natural light and on-location. We will work together to come up with the best location that represents you, your family, your child, your senior and the look you are wanting from your images.

For a very young child that may mean in the comfort of your own home. Especially for newborns and children under 9 months of age they feel less stressed and more comfortable in their own environment.

Have a favorite park or hang out? Like the look of brick, limestone, gardens? We will work together to pick a location that fits you and the design for the images you want to capture.

How do we set up our session?

Please utilize the contact page on this website. I will contact you to discuss the vision of your session and location ideas.  My clients have been photographed in Westport, the Plaza, Loose Park, Kauffman Gardens, Unity Village, Union Station, Antioch Park, and the Overland Park Arboretum, just to name a few. Of course, your home or yard may be a special place to photograph your family as well. Once a session is scheduled, the session fee is due within one week to hold the date and time. I accept cash, check and credit card for session fees and orders.

How long will the session last?

The session will typically last one hour. I will allow enough time to give you the images you deserve. Because I am a mom, I know kids will often benefit from a little break, a quick snack, or some snuggle time.

Senior sessions will last between one to two hours to allow for travel time and clothing changes. We will work together to plan the locations we want to visit and the looks that will respresent you best.  I also love to add on a complimentary mini shoot at the end of the session to capture a few family and sibling photos.

What can we expect when you arrive?

I will spend some time talking and playing with you and your family when I first arrive. I will then look for the best light, interesting texture and unique features for the images you want. My work is playful, spontaneous, and relaxed; I will follow you and your children to capture the moments that show who you are without a contrived, artificial, or formal setting.

Again, with Seniors my outlook is much the same. I like to talk with you, view your outfit choices and come up with a loose plan of where we will visit and the looks we are after. From there we will do some walking, talking and discovery of areas within our chosen locations that will give us images that will represent you.

When will we see our photos?

A private, password protected, online gallery will be available within two weeks of your session. This gallery is available for ten days to allow you and your families and friends enough time to make your selections.

Full payment is due by cash, check or credit card at the time of ordering. Once your payment has been received, you images will be available for digital download.  Albums, prints and custom framing will be available within 2 weeks of order placement.
